Peg Foster Jackson PA Obituary, Andrew Keleman Death-Former Crestwood administrator Margaret ‘Peg’ Foster dies in Susquehanna County murder-suicide

Peg Foster Jackson PA Obituary, Death: Authorities in Susquehanna County are investigating the deaths of Margaret “Peg” Foster and her husband, Andrew Keleman, in what officials say appears to be a murder-suicide at their home in Jackson Township.

According to the county’s acting coroner, state police were dispatched to the residence on Tuesday to conduct a welfare check. Upon arrival, officers discovered both individuals deceased inside the home. Preliminary findings indicate that Keleman fatally shot Foster before taking his own life. Both were in their 60s and lived at the residence where they were found.

Authorities emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing, with state police expected to release additional details as they continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Officials have not indicated any broader threat to the public.

Foster was a longtime educator and administrator, known for her work within the Crestwood School District. She previously served as principal of Fairview Elementary School and was appointed superintendent in 2015. That appointment was later rescinded by the school board, leading Foster to file a federal lawsuit alleging violations of her constitutional due process rights under the 14th Amendment. The case was ultimately dismissed by a federal judge in 2017.

The deaths have sent shockwaves through the local community, where Foster was widely recognized for her contributions to education. Authorities say the family has requested privacy during this difficult time.

Investigators continue to work to establish a full timeline of events leading up to the incident.
